Holistic natural solution

Nutritional therapy provides a holistic natural solution to your symptoms by using targeted food and lifestyle changes to nourish the body and support the healing of the whole person.

HOLISTIC: It is a holistic approach which recognizes the importance of all aspects of health. Physical health is closely intertwined with spiritual, mental, and emotional health.

NATURAL: It is the most natural way to approach healing because it works with the way the body is intended to function, providing the nutrients and support that allows healing to happen from the inside out.

SOLUTION: By supporting the body from the cellular level, nutritional therapy truly addresses the root cause of symptoms, bringing relief and new hope for your health.

The six foundations of health

Nutritional therapy focuses on six foundational areas to support health. Supporting each area provides the balanced holistic framework that supports natural healing.

1.     Nutrient-dense, whole foods

Whole foods, or “real” foods, nourish the body and provide the nutrients that you need for optimal health. These nutrients include protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates and fiber – plus vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, and more! Choosing whole foods that are full of nutrients is the first step in nourishing your body.

2.     Digestion

The second foundational area of nutritional therapy is digestion. It won’t do any good to eat nutrient-dense foods, if you can’t absorb the nutrients that you eat. Digestion is vital to optimal health because it is the only way for food to be broken down into nutrients and taken into the body in a usable form. Every cell in your body depends on digestion!

3.     Blood sugar regulation

Optimal health also depends on a balanced blood sugar level. What you eat, when you eat it, and what you eat it with are all factors that can help regulate your blood sugar to healthy and stable levels throughout the day and night. Balance in blood sugar can support balance in metabolic hormones, energy, appetite, sleep, and even a more balanced mood.

4.     Sleep

Sleep is not directly about nutrition, but it is the perfect example of the holistic approach of nutritional therapy. Sleep is vital to detoxification of the brain and body as well as allowing the body to repair and heal. And sleep both affects and is affected by the other foundational areas of health.

5.     Stress

Stress is another non-food area of nutritional therapy. But it has profound impacts on your physical and mental health. Also, the ability to effectively respond to stress can be impacted by nutrient deficiencies. This shows again that your health has many different facets!

6.     Movement

Nutritional therapy also includes the area of movement. Movement brings benefits for brain health and neurotransmitters, endorphins and mood boosting, hormone balancing, reducing inflammation, stimulating lymph circulation, boosting heart health, and more!

These six foundations – nutrient-dense food, digestion, blood sugar regulation, sleep, stress, and movement – form the framework through which I can help you understand your own body and support healing and recovery through your daily life.

Bio-individuality

The six foundations help to identify root causes of illness, but everyone is different! Another key philosophy of nutritional therapy is bio-individuality. This means that every person is an individual with specific biological differences and individual experiences and needs.

I often say: Only you are the expert on your body. I will not dismiss your observations or your symptoms. I will not apply a textbook solution to a real person without taking the whole person into account. My goal is to educate and encourage you to support your body in healing – that means that my recommendations will be tailored specifically to you.

How nutritional therapy can help you

Do you experience digestive symptoms such as heartburn, bloating, or just not feeling hungry in the morning? Or do you struggle with blood sugar issues like cravings, afternoon crashes, or waking up at night? Other symptoms may not be as easy to pinpoint – autoimmune issues can be more complex.

All of these symptoms point to foundational areas that need support. Nutritional therapy can help each and every one of these problems!

Conclusion — Unlock the power of Nutrition for Symptom Relief

Many symptoms that are seemingly unrelated or unsolvable may actually be connected at an underlying level. By looking under the surface at the whole person, nutritional therapy offers the ideal tools to make connections and uncover meaning behind your symptoms.

This is not wishful thinking but is evidence-based science that can help you understand your health and how you can make a difference in your own story.

It can be overwhelming to think of all the variables in what influences our health. But nutritional therapy provides a firm grasp on the most important aspects of health that form the foundation – the building blocks of a healthy life start with only six key things to focus on.
